Scope & General Purpose: The MIT role at Shy Bird offers exposure to many aspects of leading in the restaurant with a strong focus on hospitality, service, and guest relations.  The MIT will work closely with the management to execute on operational, financial, cultural goals.

Schedule: 5 Days per Week Including Nights and Weekends. Average 50-55 hours per week.

Management Structure: Shaun Brideau, Senior General Manager

Professional Resources: Phil Marshall- Operations Manager, Shannon Cassidy- Assistant General Manager

Daily Responsibilities: 

  • Always model the highest standards of service and hospitality through sense of urgency and guest connection
  • Create memorable guest experiences
  • Review and adjust OpenTable in alignment with business volume
  • Make floor maps, adjust staffing thoughtfully
  • Execute the training and growth of new hires, utilizing different resources at Shy Bird, communicate needs to General Manager & Operations Manager
  • Assist in upholding FOH expectations including pace, relentless prioritization of guests, and table stakes menu knowledge
  • Update and print menus
  • Update all digital platforms to reflect current menu offerings
  • Program Toast, Doordash accordingly
  • Contribute to nightly management log used to continually refine operations and guest experience
  • Execute private events & support catering, in the restaurant space
  • Communicate physical plant concerns to GM and Operations Manager, ensure the team is aware
  • Handle paid outs, deposits, and tips, log into excel sheets
  • Support catering operations as needed

Guest & Event Responsibilities

  • Cultivate guest experiences, both in the restaurant and off-premise, that are reflective of Shy Bird values, hospitality and product offerings
  • Create new regulars everyday by introducing yourself….let the leadership team know!
  • Manage, adjust leverage Opentable tools to help make the restaurant busy
  • Contribute to running events at Shy bird.
