Shy Bird is seeking Expeditors to join the service and culinary team, with both AM and PM positions available. The Expeditor, or “Expo”, like Shy Bird, is organized and detail oriented, with a connection to both the back of house team and front of house team. Using our Toast expo screen, you will successfully review orders for in-restaurant dining, takeout orders and delivery orders. You will be an important part of making sure all orders are complete, correct and in line with Shy Bird standards for quality in both flavor and presentation. The Expo will also run food, pack to-go orders, clear tables and help with sauces and other key components of the Shy Bird food program.

The description below is for the Expeditor position, but everyone works side by side at Shy Bird. We believe in cross-training for all positions. Chefs run food and bus tables. Service team does dishes. Bartenders seat guests and stock plates. We all run chicken.

Responsibilities:

• Review and understand all guest orders, including in-restaurant dining, takeout and delivery
• Receive, check and pack all guest orders
• Communicate effectively to both front of house and back of house teams
• Keep all materials for takeout/delivery + dining organized, including plates, bags, boxes & labels.
• Build a knowledge of all food menus and established standards, striving for consistency in both flavor and presentation
• Recognize repeat guests and look for opportunities with FOH staff to create memorable moments with dine in or takeout
• Consistently maintain and push forward Shy Bird’s quest to create ‘delightful takeout and delivery experiences’
